WEDDING  - WHAT TO WEAR?

Attending or participating in a wedding and have no idea what to wear? The etiquette for proper wedding guest attire can vary greatly depending on the style of the wedding. Etiquette, however, need not be simply a list of dos and don'ts. In fact, etiquettes exists to make the social interactions run more smoothly. Every etiquette guide includes a combination of common courtesy and specific rules. So, here are some tips for a great summer wedding outfit.

DAYTIME WEDDING

For men, in the summertime, wear a light-colored suit in linen or seersucker. A dress shirt, tie and dress trousers is acceptable, but dress up with a blazer if possible. If the invitation says formal, wear a dark suit. The tuxedo are not appropriate before 6 p.m. Read more about the tuxedo here.


For women, wear a fun floral dress or a light colored suit. Try to stay away from black, navy or anything that looks like you're going to the office. A beautiful hat that coordinates with your outfit is a great accessory.


EVENING WEDDING


A dark suit is always appropriate. If the invitation says casual or semi-formal, wear a blazer and slacks with a nice tie.


Dress as going out to the theater or to a dinner. Avoid beads or sequins unless the invitation specifically says black tie.


Or wear a cocktail dress. Nothing too revealing but something fun to dance in. Wear darker colors for a more sophisticated look. Black is fine.

The tuxedo is the only appropriate thing to wear for men for this occasion.


Wear a formal dress, usually to the floor. Wear those beaded purses and formal jewelry that's been waiting for an occasion such as this.

At last, don't wear black to a daytime wedding and don't wear white. This rule has relaxed some, and you can wear a printed dress with a white background or cream colored clothing. Never wear jeans, no matter how casual wedding or anything too sexy or revealing.
